The setup process for Edge Lighting and Border Lights with customized Always On Display is straightforward and user-friendly. The application offers extensive customization options, allowing users to tailor their device's appearance and functionality to reflect their personal style.
Among its numerous features, the Notification LED light stands out for its flexibility and detailed configuration. Users can customize lighting behaviors to operate within the system's Always On Display or independently, with options such as tap-to-light. Each app, contact, or account can have distinct colors and styles, enhancing personalized notification management.
The placement and style of lighting can vary depending on the device's state; for instance, lighting around the camera cutout while the screen is active, or along the edges when it is off. A block list feature prevents notifications from specific contacts or apps from triggering lights. Conversely, notifications from prioritized contacts can be set to illuminate exclusively for them.
Additional functionalities include reminders that repeat lighting at intervals with optional sound alerts, adjustable lighting durations, and settings for handling multiple notifications—such as cycling through notification colors. Restrictions can be applied based on charging status, battery level, or sleep mode for optimal power management. Brightness levels are adjustable independently of lighting effects, enabling high brightness for alerts and lower brightness for widgets like clocks.
Edge lighting effects are available for various critical events, including charging, calls, music playback, and wallpaper changes. Effects can be configured to appear around the entire screen, the front camera cutout, or both, with a broad selection of animation styles.
The pro version of Always On Display offers enhanced features such as displaying content only during notifications, charging, or shortly after locking the device.
The custom Always On Display feature allows the display of a clock and additional widgets—including notifications, preview panels, and battery status—while the screen is locked. These widgets can operate either alongside edge lighting or independently when the device is secured.
Animated wallpapers are rendered smoothly through coded animations across diverse categories—from nature scenes to romantic or technical themes—with options for customizable colors and images.
The Notifications Ticker provides a concise preview of incoming notifications around the camera cutout or on the status bar. This enables users to read silent alerts at a glance without opening the notification panel.
Notification previews are also available as a widget on the home screen, offering quick access to current notifications immediately after unlocking.
It is important to note that this app utilizes some functions dependent on the Android Accessibility Service API. While primarily designed for notification enhancement rather than accessibility assistance, it can serve users with hearing impairments by visually indicating notifications through lights and effects when sound cues are unavailable.
